January Poll Results - Favourite Idol Character

January has come and gone so fast and so has another poll for the Style Boutique 3 blog! The question for January was 'Who is your favourite Idol character?' and there was 135 votes this month.

So the results are in on who the players love out of the Idol characters in Style Boutique 3. The results are:
1st = Rosie
2nd = Alina/Alinatron
3rd = Yolanda/Lady Moon
4th = Angelique

This poll was an extremely close one with Rosie taking out the top spot with 32% (44 votes) of the votes and Alina/Alinatron coming a close second with 31% (42 votes) of the votes. Yolanda/Lady Moon had 28% (38 votes) and Angelique had 8% (11 votes). I was surprised that Angelique was last as I've noticed she's a favourite of quite a few players on platforms such as Instagram.

The new poll for February is 'Who is your favourite male character in Style Boutique 3?' To vote, simply scroll down the side bar and the poll is under the game box images. Shopdo

Style Boutique 3 has an exciting new feature that allows players to upload their boutique and outfits onto the internet for other to visit. This feature is called Shopdo and allows other players with the same game to virtually visit your boutique and purchase outfits you have created.

Shopdo can be accessed via the phone menu and requires an internet connection to use. When you select the Shopdo app, the game will inform you that your boutique, profile and Owner ID will be made public to other players. Your profile card can be edited via the Contacts App and displays basic information about your character. When enter the Shopdo app, there are four options available: My Shop Data, Recent, Search by Owner ID and Favourites. The top screen of the 3DS will display information about your shop and when you enter Shopdo, the game will tell you if you receive any new likes or favourites. Information about your Shopdo Boutique is displayed on the top 3DS screen. The information tells you how many personal likes you have received, how many likes your shop has received and how many likes your catalogue items have received. The total number of likes received is also displayed. Your Owner ID will be displayed on the top screen and other players can use this ID to search for your Shopdo Boutique.

There is one important aspect to know when using Shopdo. The Shopdo feature (as well as Designer Lounge) are region-locked and you can only search for Owner ID's/visit boutiques that were uploaded in the same region as you. The following points detail what content you can access in regards to the region your game is:

• Style Boutique: Styling Star = Can only access Shopdo & Owner ID's from other players in the EUR/AUS region who are playing Style Boutique. Cannot access Style Savvy or Girls Mode players.
• Style Savvy: Styling Star = Can only access Shopdo & Owner ID's from other players in the NA region who are playing Style Savvy. Cannot access Style Boutique or Girls Mode players.
• Girls Mode 4: スター☆スタイリスト (Star☆Stylist) = Can only access Shopdo & Owner ID's from other players in the JPN region who are playing Girls Mode. Cannot access Style Boutique or Style Savvy players.

Some other Nintendo games such as Disney Magical World have this same region-locking feature. If you search for a Shopdo Owner ID of a player in a different region to you, the game will display 'Not Found' after searching. This region-locking with Shopdo was discovered when blog readers were unable to search for my Owner ID. I attempted to search for some Style Savvy players Owner ID's and encountered the 'not found' message. I also attempted to look up some Japanese players with no success but I could successfully search for European players. It is confusing at why Nintendo decided to region lock the online content as in the previous game (Fashion Forward), you could download Caprice Chalet rooms from players from all regions. It is a shame that you cannot visit players from around the world now as it cuts out a lot of content from the game and prevents players from sharing their boutiques and designs with others.

My Shop Data
Here you can edit your catalogue and check your registration information. Select Update Shop Data and the game will update to reflect the latest look of your boutique and items in the catalogue. Select edit catalogue to see the three outfits that you have for sale on your Shopdo boutique. You can design three outfits to display in the catalogue and when players visit your Shopdo Boutique, they can purchase these outfits. You can give the outfit a name and you can choose from all the items in your personal wardrobe excluding designer items.

Shopdo - Owner ID Database

To search for a Owner ID, select the Search By Owner ID option and enter the ID code using the number pad on the bottom 3DS screen. You can only search for Owner ID's in the same region as you and if you try searching for one in a different region, the game will display a 'not found' message.

Awards Guide

Style Boutique 3 has a new feature that allows you to achieve awards for reaching certain milestones in the game. Awards range from simple tasks such as changing your outfit multiple times to earning a million dollars in the game. The list of awards in the game can be found in the Awards App in the phone menu. There are eleven tabs of awards and each tab has a number of awards to collect. 

The game will inform you at the end of a game day if you achieved any new awards and it will tell you which awards you got. You do not earn money or stylist rank points for achieving awards. Awards are just a fun feature in the game and gives you something to work towards achieving. Some awards are easy to achieve whilst some are quite difficult.

The awards are listed on the bottom 3DS screen.

Amiibo - Mario

Style Boutique 3 has amiibo compatiblity and unlocks special designs for your character to wear. In this game, amiibos unlock emblems and design items that are unique to the amiibo character. Certain amiibo figures unlock certain content and this guide will look at the content unlocked with the Mario amiibo.

This T-shirt design unlocks with the Mario amiibo.

To scan an amiibo into the game, open the phone menu and select the amiibo app. Make sure that you have the internet/online switched on. You will need either a New Nintendo 3DS/2DS with the built in NFC reader or a separate NFC Reader from Nintendo. Turn the NFC reader on if you are using the stand-alone one. Place the amiibo on the 3DS or NFC reader and the game will ask to scan it in. Once you have successfully scanned the amiibo into the game, you can either close the amiibo app or scan in more amiibos. Go to your apartment and select the Design option to access the content unlocked by the amiibo.

The Mario amiibo unlocks a special Mario themed emblem and two Mario themed t-shirt designs. The emblem features a design on his famous hat and moustache. You can add these emblem to various design items or to shopping bags.

The Mario t-shirt features two unique designs. Select the T-shirt option from the design menu and you will see the base Mario t-shirt. Select this and the two options for the t-shirt design will appear. The amiibo unlocks the Mario Simple and Mario Brick designs which are themed around his famous overalls and bricks from the game. You can recolour the t-shirt and emblem designs to any colour using the design feature.

The following amiibo's are compatible with Style Boutique 3/Style Savvy 4 and will unlock the Mario t-shirts and emblem. Special edition Mario amiibos will unlock a different item.

Boutique - Angelique Black Dinner Outfit Request

In Style Boutique 3, there is a request that will appear at the Boutique/Shop from Angelique once you have finished the main story line. Angelique will inform you that she is having dinner with the girls soon and requests you pick out a black outfit for her to wear. It seems she can be quite fussy with this request and will often reject the outfit if you do not pick the perfect items.

Angelique is after an outfit that is perfect for dinner so that means something casual yet gives off the appearance of looking fancy. She will most likely reject outfits if you pick random items that are the colour black and are a mixture of multiple styles. She will tell you that she isn't impressed with the outfit. Angelique will not accept outfits from styles such as feminine, girly and basic. I found she will reject most chic outfits even though that is her main style, but this may be due to the items not matching. The items she rejected for me were ones like dresses, skirts, jackets and inners/tops. Other players may have more success finding outfits that match with the chic theme.

Angelique is a fan of bold outfits and there is a perfect bold outfit you can give her to pass this request. Please note this is not the only outfit that works and you may find an outfit yourself that she will accept. The outfit is made up of items that fall under the Bold theme and the colour black. All items in the outfit are from AZ-USA and the items used are as follows:

Angelique will be pleased with this outfit and tell you how much she loves it. The sunglasses she is wearing in the photos below were ones she already had on. I found if you removed them when choosing an outfit, she would reject it. She may accept black sunglasses from AZ-USA with the outfit.
