There is one important aspect to know when using Shopdo. The Shopdo feature (as well as Designer Lounge) are region-locked and you can only search for Owner ID's/visit boutiques that were uploaded in the same region as you. The following points detail what content you can access in regards to the region your game is:
- Style Boutique: Styling Star = Can only access Shopdo & Owner ID's from other players in the EUR/AUS region who are playing Style Boutique. Cannot access Style Savvy or Girls Mode players.
- Style Savvy: Styling Star = Can only access Shopdo & Owner ID's from other players in the NA region who are playing Style Savvy. Cannot access Style Boutique or Girls Mode players.
- Girls Mode 4: スター☆スタイリスト (Star☆Stylist) = Can only access Shopdo & Owner ID's from other players in the JPN region who are playing Girls Mode. Cannot access Style Boutique or Style Savvy players.

Recent
This option displays boutiques that have recently been uploaded to the Shopdo server. Use the arrows to cycle through the Boutiques available. The top screen displays the Boutique's layout and the players profile card is displayed on the bottom screen. You can give a 'nice' (like) to boutiques from this screen, block players and select to visit their boutique.
Search By Owner ID
Use this feature to search for boutiques using Owner ID's. Many players upload their Owner ID's to social media so other players can easily search for their boutiques. Remember you can only search and visit Owner ID's in the same region as you. It will say 'not found' if the Owner ID you are searching for is not from the same region. Searching for Owner ID's is just like searching for Caprice Chalet rooms in the previous game. You need to enter the Owner ID using the numbers on the bottom 3DS screen. For example, search for 00006271056 if you are playing the Style Boutique game. Please visit the Shopdo Owner ID Database if you would like to find Owner ID's to search for or to add your Owner ID to the database.

Favourites
Here you can view shops of other players that you have add to your favourites. These can also be accessed via the last tab (with the star) in the Contacts App. When visiting boutiques via Shopdo, you can favourite ones you like and the characters profile card is saved in your favourites. Select the players card and select Ok to easily visit their boutique.
When visiting boutiques on Shopdo, the game will display the player standing behind the counter on the main screen. You can select to view the boutique from the wide view if you would like to see how the player has decorated their boutique. Other players may appear in the boutique and you can talk to them using the arrow keys. If you talk to another player, they will ask if you would like to visit their boutique. This is a great way to meet other players and visit more boutiques. When visiting a boutique, you can add it to your favourites by selecting the star in the top left hand corner. Select talk and the player will ask if you would like to do some shopping or if you would like to take some photos. Select shopping to see the three outfits the player has to purchase in their catalogue. Select the Nice option to give an outfit a like. The game will save when you buy an outfit and you are given the option to save the outfit to your scrapbook. The game uses your in-game funds to purchase outfits.

One quick but late question. Can you make money with Shopdo like the previous games’ online shops? Or is this another feature to become purely cosmetic. I’m not fussed about it but it would be great considering how hard it is to gain money quickly in this game. I do enjoy looking through everyone else’s boutiques and how they are decorated though
ReplyDeleteYes you can make money on Shopdo! Visitors to your Shopdo can buy the outfits, so if you keep them at a reasonable price people will feel more inclined to buy them. I've seen outfits of Purple Moon items like the Nintendo ones, so sometimes people buy those to collect the items rather than waiting for them to appear at the exhibition hall.
DeleteI've made a guide on how to earn money in Styling Star that would be great to check out. I update my Shopdo weekly and usually make about $5000 average with it. I post a lot about my Shopdo and other boutiques on my personal blog which is linked in my name.
