Girsl Mode 4: Star☆Stylist - Japanese Game Play Trailer

With the recent Nintendo Direct, a game play trailer was released showing footage from the Japanese version Girls Mode 4: Star☆Stylist. This game play will be the same in the European and Australian version of the game New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star. (UPDATE: Trailer no longer available online)

The trailer shows a new character exploring the city and scenes of collages of items available in the game. Footage of game play is shown of a character visiting the boutique and selecting an outfit. The brands Flute F and Mezzo Flute are shown which as the Japanese titles for Chorale and Chorale Prelude. The interior of the boutique is different from previous games so this confirms new interiors are available for decorating.

In Girls Mode 4/Style Boutique 3, your characters story line will be influenced by the clothes you choose and the people you serve at your boutique. The game play trailer showed footage on new characters and footage of a live music concert. The concert element ties in with new customers and characters being local musicians. Their live stages and singing will depend on the outfit you provide them with at the boutique. This is a new feature to the game that has not been previously include in earlier installments in the series.

Screenshots are shown of exciting new and returning items that will be included in the game. The screenshots show the different categories available when selecting clothing. The new categories available include headphones and bracelets.

New Style Boutique 3 & Girls Mode 4 Box Art

The official box art for New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star has been released. The box art features a character displaying various clothing items in a boutique setting and a live music show. The music show element ties in with the story part of the game where you can style local celebrities and pop stars. The box art portrays a elegant and sophisticated fashion look compared to the Japanese box art which is colourful and fun. This cover art will be used for the European and Australian version of the game New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star.

The cover art for the Japanese version Girls Mode 4: Girls Mode 4 Star☆Stylist was released when the game was announced. It has a similar design to previous Girls Mode box art and features a colourful and quirky design. It focuses on showcasing the various clothing and accessory items available in the game.

Here are some comparisons of the series box art for all regions of the game. The box art for the Japanese version Girls Mode is always colourful and focuses on the girly/cute fashions included in the game. Whilst the western versions of the game, Style Boutique (Europe and Australia) and Style Savvy (North America) have a more mature looking design. Style Savvy and Style Savvy: Trendsetters had a unique design focusing on game statistics (like amount of items) and simple images of characters. Whereas the Style Boutique box art is often a darker tone in colour with a focus on the key features in the game such as items or interior decorating. The box art for the third installment in the series is the same for Style Boutique and Style Savvy. It took a fair time for the game to come to NA and the game was not localised for North America (includes many UK-English spelling terms) as previous games were. Western fans of the series often feel the box art does not reflect the fun and fashionable tone of the game like the Japanese box art does.

Girls Mode 4: Star☆Stylist - Japanese Launch Trailer

The launch trailer for Girls Mode 4: Star☆Stylist was recently revealed during a Nintendo Direct. Girls Mode 4 is the Japanese version of New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star and will be released on November 2nd in Japan. The trailer shows a new character walking around a fictional city and visiting various locations. It showcases images of new and recurring clothing items and accessories that will be included in the game.

The trailer hinted at locations from Girls Mode 3/Style Boutique 2 returning in the new game. These locations include the cafe and live music club. Various scenes of boutiques and a fashion show were shown in the trailer.

A mobile phone is shown in the trailer hinting at the possibility of the mobile phone menu having more features in the new game. A social network or feed is shown that showcases various images of different outfits. Hopefully this will mean a more extensive online mode will be included in the game unlike Girls Mode 3/Style Boutique 2 which had a lackluster online feature limited to only downloaded rooms for the Caprice Chalet or visiting friends via local play to only take photos. The phone displays Avex Group on the screen which is a large entertainment company in Japan.

One scene of the trailer shows a Retrobeat dress that was available in Girls Mode 3/Style Boutique 2, so we can be sure items featured in the previous game will be returning. There will be over 20,000 items in Girls Mode 4/Style Boutique 3, up from 19,000 in the previous game. Exciting new items have been added and they were hinted at in the trailer. Jewellery has been expanded beyond earrings, necklaces and glasses with watches and bracelets being shown in the trailer. Another new feature hinted at is nail polish and this will most likely be part of the Beautician section of the game.

A variety of new characters were shown in the launch trailer. No confirmation of their names or roles within the game yet. It has been stated that your character's story will be influenced by your choice of style and work at the boutique. The photo below shows two new characters who were shown in the trailer. One girl is dressed in feminine/girl fashion whilst the other is dressed in lively/psychedelic fashion. Some of the clothing items worn by the characters have not been included in previous games so maybe this could mean new items or possibly a brand to be included in Girls Mode 4/Style Boutique 2.
