Cake Shop

New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star features a new location called the Cake Shop where you can find mouth watering desserts and yummy food themed miniatures. The Cake Shop is run by a married couple who go by the names Mike and Madeira. Here you can purchase various food themed miniatures and talk to the owners of the shop.

Mike runs the counter at the shop and Madeira bakes all the treats. She rarely talks but is a skilled baker. Madeira will visit the boutique for some outfits during the main story line of the game. She will give you tricky clues on what style of outfit she is looking for and usually requests outfits to help with inspiration for new recipes.

Make sure to visit the Cake Shop to stock up on all the food miniatures available. The selection doesn't change often, so it doesn't matter if you miss a day or two visiting. Once purchased, the miniatures can be found under the Food Category when remodelling your boutique or apartment. Messaging

New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star has a game feature called messaging that allows players to send and receive messages from characters in the game. You can request NPC's to visit you at certain shops around the city if you have enough hearts with them on their contact card. Some days you may receive messages from characters requesting you to meet them at certain stores or locations.

The messaging feature can be found in the Phone Menu of Styling Star and has a text bubble icon. If you have received new messages, a small red dot will flash on the bubble icon. When you enter the message app, the top screen will display your unread message and the bottom screen displays the message list. New messages that you haven't read yet will display the word 'New!' on them.

During the main story line of the game, important messages will be sent to your message app from the main characters. These messages will form part of the story line and the characters will usually request you to meet them somewhere or thank you for helping them. Story line messages will appear with red text on the bottom 3DS screen and you are unable to delete them.

Other types of messages you can receive are ones from Niamh telling you when sales are held at the Exhibition Hall, characters requesting you to help them pick a new hairstyle or make-up and responses from characters you have messaged. When a character asks you to meet them at the hair salon or beautician, it is not compulsory to attend and you can ignore the request. Older messages will delete themselves as you receive new ones and the game generally keeps a years worth of messages.

Bakery

New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star features a cute new location called the Bakery. At this location, you will find Michel who runs the little cart which contains bread themed miniatures. The bakery will appear in the town square and is available to visit on Sundays. During the later part of the main story line, the bakery will appear every day but will switch back to just Sundays after the main story line has ended.

The bakery is run by Michel whose main hobby besides baking is making bad puns and jokes. These puns are usually related to bread making and his terrible sense of humour often gets on other main characters nerves. When the bakery stall is not open, Michel can be found at the park talking about painting which is his other passion. Examples of his paintings are sometimes shown such as this 'x' painting he was showing to Angelique for critique one day. Michel will sometimes appear at the Florist as he is friends/occasional comedy partners with Florian.

Always make sure to visit the Bakery and talk to Michel as he will give you a bread themed miniature. This is the only way to obtain these types of miniatures so make sure to talk to him often. These miniatures can be found under the Food category of the miniatures when remodelling your boutique or apartment. Story events will occur at the Bakery during the main story line so it is always useful to visit there. Alina will appear there during the main story line for parts of her story and she can be found annoying Michel occasionally. After the main story line has ended, characters will still appear at the Bakery and interact with others.

Florist

An old favourite returns in New Style Boutique: Styling Star and that is the Florist! In the previous game New Style Boutique (Trendsetters), there was a small flower stand that appeared in the park. This stand was removed in Fashion Forward but has returned in Styling Star as it's own shop known as the Florist. The Florist will open during the main story line however it can take a little while for it to officially open for business.

The Florist is managed by Florian who also appeared in New Style Boutique (known as Reed in Trendsetters). He can be found standing behind the cash register and running the store when the Florist is open. Florian has a love/hate friendship with Michel and the two joke about having a stand-up act at the Live Music Club during the story line (you can actually see their performance sometimes) His younger sister Flora also appears at the Florist and runs the Florist occasionally. She dreams of becoming a comedian and appeared in New Style Boutique as well under the same name (Daisy in Trendsetters).

Wasn't sure how this month's poll results would come out as I've seen lots of different opinions online about which male characters players often rave on about. Surprisingly, Johann and Ethan were tied for first but Ethan took the lead in the last 16 hours of the poll! Now I knew Ethan would rank high but I didn't know Johann was that popular! Xiaobai and Fortman tied for second which I thought Fortman was popular but I'm glad Xiaobai ranked high as he is my favourite. All the other male characters followed behind with a few votes and I thought Florian honestly would've gotten more votes. He seems quite popular amongst players along with Melvin.

January Poll Results - Favourite Idol Character

January has come and gone so fast and so has another poll for the Style Boutique 3 blog! The question for January was 'Who is your favourite Idol character?' and there was 135 votes this month.

So the results are in on who the players love out of the Idol characters in Style Boutique 3. The results are:
1st = Rosie
2nd = Alina/Alinatron
3rd = Yolanda/Lady Moon
4th = Angelique

This poll was an extremely close one with Rosie taking out the top spot with 32% (44 votes) of the votes and Alina/Alinatron coming a close second with 31% (42 votes) of the votes. Yolanda/Lady Moon had 28% (38 votes) and Angelique had 8% (11 votes). I was surprised that Angelique was last as I've noticed she's a favourite of quite a few players on platforms such as Instagram.

Characters

Style Boutique 3 features a wide range of characters to meet during the course of the game. You will encounter the main characters during the main story part of the game and you will learn about their lives and personalities. Each character plays a certain role within teh game, i.e. runs a shop or is a idol performer. If you have a good relationship and hearts on their customer card, you can send messages to the characters asking for them to visit you at different shops to give them a new look. This feature is not available on some characters such as brands representatives and the messaging feature is available on the phone menu. At your shop, you need to hire an assistant and you can choose from six characters: Xin, Syliva, Hannah, Ken, Archie and Rahil. Choose carefully as you cannot change the assistant until you have completed the main story line of the game.

Idol Performers
Rosie - Quite clumsy, but studies hard. Now a certified popstar. She has moved the city from a farm and works part time at the Florist. Rosie's favourite styles are girly and rock.
Yolanda - Sole heiress to the Celestial Hotel fortune and talented singer. She dreams of becoming a singer and sneaks around her mother to achieve her dream. Yolanda's favourite styles are feminine and bold.
Alina - A mysterious talent by the name of Alinatron and always taking on new challenges. She is famous on Mewtube and is a hardcore fan of a TV show called Wars of the Space Knights. Alina's favourite styles are lively and gothic.
Angelique - World famous singer and beloved by Rosie, Yolanda and Rosie. She performed at the Style Boutique International opening ceremony and loves a range of styles, but mainly chic.

NIN10 Productions
Ethan - President of NIN10 Pro and a man with very big dreams. Constantly talks about taking over the world and ruling it.
Janice - receptionist, secretary and accountant for NIN10 Pro. She is always worrying and complaining about Ethan overspending.
Oliver - Model signed to NIN10 Pro and is hugely popular. He works as a movie actor as well and was friends with Ethan during school.
Jim - NIN10 Pro's photographer and rarely talks about anything other than work.
Johann - His weirdness is outweighed by his genius and a successful composer who creates all the songs for artists at NIN10. He can found freaking out at the park all the time.

Shop Workers
Xiaobai - Manager of the Menswear Shop and not good at improvising. He can sometimes be worried about the outfit he chooses for customers and lacks confidence.
Cece - Manager of the Hair Salon and is a expert hairdresser. She agonises over her indecisiveness and often mixes up her sentences.
Lorelei - Manager of the Beautician and is an expert make-up and nail artist.
Pippa - Manger of the Lifestyle Shop and has a passion for business. She is handy at crafting items and helps out her family back home.
Tamwar - A waiter at the cafe. Very diligent about his work.
Mike - Owns the cake shop with his wife Madeira. He mans the counter and is very sociable.
Madeira - Owns the cake shop with her husband. Rarely talks but is a skilled baker.
Florian - Manages the Flower shop and is always bright and happy. He appreciates bad puns but gets annoyed with Michel's awful puns.
Jo - Likes punk rock and her friend Vincent. She runs the Live Music Club with him.
Vincent - A musician friend of Jo who starts a band at the Live Music Club. He is an excellent cook and doesn't talk much.
Michel - Runs the local bakery stall and paints on weekdays at the Park. Has a unique sense of humour and tells very bad bread related puns. Stars a comedy duo with Florian who he often annoys.
