New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star Walkthrough
New
Style Boutique 3: Styling Star
tells the story of three girls achieving their dreams of becoming pop
stars and
you need to help along their journey. During this journey, the city will
become
more fashionable and a number of shops will open up. There are a number
of
characters to meet during the story and they will appear at different
times. In Styling Star, you manage a fashion boutique and sell a range
of fashion styles to customers in the city. You can also work at other
shops such as the Hair Salon, Beautician and Menswear Shop. There are
miniatures to collect in the game from various shops and there are a
wide variety of clothing items to collect. This guide is a walkthrough
of the entire main story line of the game and information on how to
unlock things such as stock space, hair styles and new shops.
The main story line of Styling Star takes approximately 42 hours minimum of game play to complete. This is the minimum amount of hours required to play if you only focus on the story line and don’t spend much time on side features such as online modes or designing your own items. You can check your game play time using the Activity Log on the 3DS menu screen. Please note this walk-through refers to how I played the game myself and you play through may differ. You may encounter that events occur at different times or choose different options (such as the girls style). This walkthrough is a general guide on the main story line and the ending is the same no matter what options you choose during the game. Apologies for the text size in some sections as there was a unfixable formatting issue. Spoilers are featured in this walkthrough so it may be a good idea to avoid reading ahead if you do not wish to see spoilers.
When you first start the game, it will ask you to enter your name and date of birth (date and month). After this a text will appear from your uncle Tim asking you to meet him at the station. The game will take you to the station where you will find Tim. He will talk about you visiting the city whilst growing up and about the boutique he runs. You will then be taken to the map screen and icons appear for My Shop and Station. Touch My Shop and you will see Tim has named his boutique the amusing ‘Timorrow’. He will inform you that you can live in the apartment above the boutique and you should go get ready.
A man called Ethan appears and talks to Tim. Ethan has set up a talent agency in the city and talks about his plans with Tim. Ethan used to be in a band with Tim and this is mentioned. Tim informs Ethan that he is planning on leaving town and that you have arrived in town. Ethan will ask about your appearance which you now need to decide. There is a wide range of facial and body features to choose from to make your character unique. More styles and colours can be unlocked in the game to use such as eye colour and hairstyles. The categories available for customisation include:
Ethan and Tim briefly talk about your appearance before Ethan leaves. You are unable to meet Ethan at this time as you are still in your apartment. You will see the interior of your apartment but no options are available.

Boutique 3 features a wide range of characters to meet during the course
of the game. You will encounter the main characters during the main story part of the game and you will learn about their lives and personalities. Beautician - Nails
There is an exciting new feature in Style Boutique 3 that allows you to paint your nails in a range of unique and colourful designs. You can get your nails done at the Beautician and any sets you have purchased can be used at your apartment. At the beautician you can help customers pick a nail design to suit their outfit.
Head to the beautician and talk to Lorelei to get a set of new nails. She will ask what type of nails you would like and the nail selection screen will appear. Nails are available in each of the styles in the game (i.e. girly, gothic, chic etc.). Each style category has a selection of different patterns and colours unique to that style. The categories appear along the top of the bottom 3DS screen. Prices vary for the nail sets and an example of how the design will look is shown on the top 3DS screen. Once you find a nail design that you like, select OK and a short animation will play of Lorelei doing your nails. Your character will then show off the completed look. Any nails sets you buy from the Beautician are available in the Nails option at your apartment. The pictures below show examples of nail designs from each of the style categories.

Brands
Style Boutique 3 features a wide variety of clothing brands that cater to all tastes in fashion. The game has a style for everyone and the items available range from Lolita dresses to colourful headphones. Love girly style fashion, there's a brand for you! Or maybe you're more into a chic style which is also in the game. Whatever your taste is, there's a brand for everyone and most players have their own personal favourite. Customers will have a favourite clothing style as well and you can either tell by looking at their outfit (if you have memorised clothing styles in the game) or they will straight up tell you what they are looking for. Some customers may wish to try a new style and ask for something along the lines of bold, lively or chic.
There are 16 brands in Style Boutique 3 and each has a style focus, for example Marzipan Sky is primarily girly style and Brooke Bridge is preppy. Each brand will have a main style, but will contain pieces that fit within other styles, i.e. some Marble Lily items fit under both Baby-Doll and girly styles. There are separate brands for the male clothing items and accessories.
Visit the Exhibition Hall to purchase clothing items from the brands. The Exhibition Hall is divided into 4 levels and as you progress through the story line of the game, you will unlock new brands. Make sure to stock up on items from a range of brands so you don't get stuck not having the item the customer is after. You can always select to stock up and make the customer wait whilst you purchase the item. It's a good idea to purchase pieces to fit the theme and will make up a full outfit. There is also a booth at the Exhibition Hall called VIP where you can find items from all the brands on sale in one convenient location.
In the previous Style Boutique game, there was a brand called Streetflow which focused on sporty style. Unfortunately this brand has been removed in New Style Boutique 3. Pieces from the collection can be found in brands such as April Bonbon and AZ-USA.
Here is a useful list of all the brands available in Style Boutique 3 and the main style that the brand focuses on. The brand name translation is also listed for Girls Mode 4 as some brands are known under a different title in the Japanese version.

New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star Released!
New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star was released in Europe and Australia last weekend! The game is available either as a physical copy or as a digital download from the Nintendo eShop. I got the physical copy and it was bit of nightmare trying to track down/pre-order the game as it is hard to find here sometimes (I talk more about getting the game over at my other blog Marzipan Wonderland). But all that matters is that I have it!
I've played 6 hours already of the game, would've been more but I worked all weekend and didn't have the time to play. It's a fun game so far and there is an interesting story involving girls becoming super stars in the singing world. The new items I've seen at the Exhibition Hall are amazing and some are quite amusing in their design, especially the weird giant cape ones I've seen. Planning to spend a fair amount of time playing through the story line the next few days to complete it. Should get a guide up in the next few days, I'm just enjoying playing the game at the moment ❤❤

New Style Boutique 3 - Serving Boutique Customers Screenshots
The European Nintendo website recently posted screenshots showcasing what is available when serving customers at the boutique. The screenshots showed customers requesting a particular outfit or item and images of various clothing items and accessories.
The system for serving customers at the boutique is the same as previous games. You can choose from the clothing items and accessories you have ordered or brought at the Exhibition Hall to sell the customers. The search features can be used to narrow it down and some of the screenshots below show searches for chic outers or feminine cardigans. Many of the clothing items shown in the screenshots were included in Style Boutique 2 and items such as watches or headphones are new items.

Monthly Poll Added
If you are a reader of the Style Boutique 2 blog, you will be familiar with the monthly poll. Each month, a poll is posted in the side bar to find out the readers favourite aspects of the game. Thought I'd add a poll to this blog as well just for fun!
So the question for this month's poll is 'What feature are you excited for in Style Boutique 3?' There's a few options to choose from and it will be interesting to see what everyone is excited for the most! To vote, simply scroll down the side bar and the poll is under the game box images. If you cannot view the poll, please visit the blog using the web version. The blog is not available in mobile view on some devices. If you are on a mobile, select 'View web version' at the bottom of the page.
Just a little blog update as well. I'm excited for the game and I'm intrigued to see all the new outfits especially any from Marzipan Sky which is my favourite brand. It will be interesting to see what content is in the new game. I haven't been looking at much from the Japanese version as I didn't want any spoilers. Seen lots of pictures of instagram of outfits that look amazing. And I just have to say I'm so happy that colours do not need to be unlocked in the new game. Thank you Nintendo for realising how difficult and annoying that was.

New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star - Demo Overview
A demo of New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star was released on the European and Australian eShop on October 19th. It is available for download for 3DS and 2DS models and shows a glimpse of what's to expect in the new game. The demo takes you through the early stages of the game and details the basic mechanics of the game. Not all features of the game are available in the demo. This guide will detail the demo and any new features that will be included in New Style Boutique 3. The demo can be played 30 times and your progress cannot be saved.
Start up the demo and you will be greeted by a menu screen. Select new game to get started! First you will need to choose the appearance of your character. There is a wide range of facial and body features to choose from to make your character unique. More styles and colours can be unlocked in the game to use such as eye colour and hairstyles. The categories available for customisation include:
After you've decided on your characters look, the game begins! You will be greeted by a character called Tim who is your uncle. He runs a boutique that he is handling over to you to run. A girl named Abigail enters the boutique looking for a top she ordered. Tim suggests you pick out an item for Abigail. Next the game goes over the basic mechanics of choosing items and gives you two options to pick from for a top. Choose the AZ-USA branded top as Abigail's style is the bold/cool style and this brand matches that style. Abigail will try on her new top and it looks like she is happy with it. She will pay you for the top and you will see a contact card appear on the bottom screen. These are similar to the customer cards from New Style Boutique (Style Savvy 2) which listed information about the customer and showed the amount of stamps they had earned shopping at the boutique. More information about contact cards will appear later in the guide.
After this Tim will talk about handling over the boutique to you and how he is looking forward to going on a journey of discovery. He will talk about how much your character loves fashion and that you were meant to run this boutique. Next you will be given the option to choose an assistant for the boutique. There are six options to choose from, 3 girls and 3 boys. Choose carefully as you cannot change your pick after you have chosen (If you start playing the demo another time, you can choose a different one). No confirmation on whether you can swap them around like you could in New Style Boutique. The characters available to choose for the assistant includes:
Tim will now talk to you about the contacts app which can be found from the phone menu screen. It details each characters job, hobby, some brief information about them and the number of hearts earned. Hearts detail how close of a relationship you have to that character. The more hearts you have with the character, the more invitations options that will be available when sending them messages using the messaging function. Now you need to pick a name for your boutique and the demo will inform you it cannot be changed once set. In the full game, you should be able to change the boutique name.
After this, Tim will tell you to head off to your apartment. The game will bring up a new feature which shows your profit and activity for the day. It will show a photo that you took that day, sales earned, stylist points and stylist rank. Your stylist rank increases when you serve customers at the boutique and other possibly other locations such as the beautician.
Style Boutique 3 has brought back the day/night cycle which was last seen in the original New Style Boutique (the first one of the 3DS). Style Boutique 2 worked off the 3DS clock, but the demo shows the new game will operate off an in-game clock. Time moved quite quick for myself in the demo, one day passed by in about 5 minutes. Hopefully they will be longer and the game provides enough content to be completed each day. I often found in New Style Boutique that I would run out of things to do each day and constantly had to move to the next day.

Overview of customisation options. |

- Xin - Wears basic clothing
- Sylvia - Wears feminine clothing
- Hannah - Wears lively clothing
- Ken - Wears basic clothing
- Archie - Wears bold clothing
- Rahil - Wears chic clothing

Overview of the day. |
The clock is displayed in the left hand corner. |
