Monthly Poll Added

If you are a reader of the Style Boutique 2 blog, you will be familiar with the monthly poll. Each month, a poll is posted in the side bar to find out the readers favourite aspects of the game. Thought I'd add a poll to this blog as well just for fun!

So the question for this month's poll is 'What feature are you excited for in Style Boutique 3?' There's a few options to choose from and it will be interesting to see what everyone is excited for the most! To vote, simply scroll down the side bar and the poll is under the game box images. If you cannot view the poll, please visit the blog using the web version. The blog is not available in mobile view on some devices. If you are on a mobile, select 'View web version' at the bottom of the page.

Just a little blog update as well. I'm excited for the game and I'm intrigued to see all the new outfits especially any from Marzipan Sky which is my favourite brand. It will be interesting to see what content is in the new game. I haven't been looking at much from the Japanese version as I didn't want any spoilers. Seen lots of pictures of instagram of outfits that look amazing. And I just have to say I'm so happy that colours do not need to be unlocked in the new game. Thank you Nintendo for realising how difficult and annoying that was.

  1. I'm iffy on the Idol Performances b/c I don't want that to turn into a useless feature like the cafe dance performances in Disney Magical World 2 were. I picked Watches/Bracelets because it will add a remarkable amount of new accessories (and probably the only items that are new to the franchise, amiright?). I'm skeptical of the nail art b/c even though I'm all for complex nail art designs, it is a small detail that may not appear significant when zoomed out of the character wearing it. Not on your poll, but I will mention that I'm very excited for the new artistic direction of this game. The cotton candy and pastel colours of the town and the stylized eyes of the characters just make it more fantasy and I love it. It is a welcome change from the somewhat realism of Trendsetters (Fashion Forward was just tip-toeing away from realism with the Dollshouse feature, wasn't it?).

    1. Omg I agree so much about the cafe dance performances in Disney Magical World! I only ever did them if I needed a sticker or photo from them. They just went on and on and never ended! I'm intrigued about how much of the game will be the idol part as I've heard from Japanese players that it's a fair chunk of the game. I'm not interested in playing an idol game, I want a fashion game. I hope you can skip the performances because I hate having to sit there for 3 to 4 minutes watching a performance.

I'm happy they put more jewellery in the game and the watches look amazing. The only reason I'm excited for nail art is because it reminds me of the good old days of playing flash games on the Barbie website in the early 2000's.

I absolutely love Fashion Forward so it's going to be hard to get used to a new game. The art style is unique but the stylised eyes still freak me out a bit haha. I'm hoping the new game has a good amount of fashion focused content as my favourite aspect of the game is creating outfits.

  2. Since the dances did not reward you for activating them (other than unlocking two stickers), it became a useless feature that the developers wasted time and resources on that they could have used to improve framerate and implement smoother performance in quests.

It'll be weird to go back to a simplified town after Fashion Forward. The developer probably thought since Trendsetters was long ago that enough time has passed to reintroduce players to that town concept rather than come up with a new one. Playing Trendsetters and Fashion Forward back-to-back, one notices the familiarity of the fashions and I'm chuckling at the prospect of seeing them a third time! (I'm even starting the DS one again). It's good that the nail art will have nostalgic value for you! My only other experience with nail art was in Girls' Fashion Shoot which was altogether alright b/c the model would pose in a way showing off her nails. I would be pleasantly surprised if new clothing is added.

    1. The dances were pretty boring because they were the same thing every time. They did seem to put a lot of effort into them even though there wasn't much reward from them. I post a bit about Disney Magical World on my personal blog which is listed in my blogger profile.

Trendsetters wasn't a favorite of mine, so I'm hoping they've improved on it to make it more enjoyable. I've seen Girl's Fashion Shoot on the eShop but never played it. Maybe next time I'll get when it's on sale.

There will be new clothes in the game as they've added a huge amount of new items. The dresses from Marzipan Sky and Marble Lily look amazing. I know Streetflow has been removed and the clothes from that brand have been separated into other brands like what happened with Miss Ribbon in the previous game.

  3. Personally I'm all for the idol stuff. I think it'll be a fun new addition :)
Plus, I don't think we're ever going to get a proper idol game here that isn't a mobile game...if I can't have Idolmaster, then at least I can have this.

    1. I'm intrigued about the idol stuff, I'm just hoping it's not the main part of the game. I love the whole fashion aspect and I just don't have time to sit around watching performances. Hopefully there will be a skip button. It's great how you can dress the idols up though, hopefully there will be some fun idolmaster style outfits!

    2. Yeah, I understand your worries. And yeah, I hope there's a skip button too. I'm fine with sitting around watching the performances over and over again, but I know not everyone is. There was a skip button in the demo, though, so I wouldn't be worried about that.
