The Menswear Shop unlocks during the main story line of the game and will become available around Stylist Rank 28 (this is the time it unlocked for myself). The shop is managed by Xiaobai who appears at your boutique during the main story line. You need to follow him to the Menswear Shop to hear his story about his dreams and inspiration to open the shop. It will take some time for the shop to officially open and you just need to wait until Johann appears at your boutique as you need to redirect him to the Menswear Shop. Head over there to help him pick out an outfit and after this, you will direct a few more male customers from your boutique to the Menswear Shop and pick out new outfits for them. Once you have successfully served three customers at the Menswear Shop, you will now be able to work there all the time and customers will appear.

One important thing to note about the Menswear Shop is that you do earn money for working there, it just doesn't show as an amount at the end. The money goes straight to your money in-game and it's a great place to work as male customers tend to spend more than female customers and will request full outfits most of the time. There is also an award for serving 10 customers at the Menswear Shop which is pretty easy to achieve.
The men's fashion items featuring a variety of items and many accessories unique to male characters. The selection of items is smaller than the ones available for female characters, but there is selection of fashionable pieces to choose from. Men's fashion items fall under the following categories:
- Inners
- Tops
- Outers
- Trousers
- Yukatas/Dungarees
- Socks
- Shoes
- Gloves
- Watches/Bracelets
- Necklaces/Ties
- Scarves
- Glasses/Sunglasses
- Headwear
The following styles are available for men's fashion items: eastern, basic, casual, bold, chic, rock, preppy & boho-chic. Only five brands are available at the Menswear Shop and these include:
- Kanokoi - Eastern inspired fashion pieces.
- Basic U - Simple and comfortable items.
- Helion - Contemporary fashion featuring casual styled items.
- Dept. 9 - The bold fashion brand for men featuring street style inspired clothing.
- Markus & Corman - Classy and expensive items for the sophisticated gentleman.

Customers will appear at the Menswear Shop the same way as other shops with the customers displayed on the bottom 3DS screen. Select a customer to talk to them and they will give you the run down on the type of outfit they are after. Once you have listened to the customer, the bottom 3DS screen will bring up two options: Leave this to me! or Sorry. You cannot stock up like at your boutique instead just being able to accept or reject requests.
Below is an example of a request from a male customer. Most male customers will request outfits belonging to a certain style, with casual, bold and chic bring the most common. I've rarely come across an eastern style request. You can also message male customers to visit the Menswear Shop when you have enough hearts with them if you want customers of a certain style.
Once you have accepted the request to pick an outfit, the clothing item screen will appear. The categories are organised the same way as other wardrobe aspects of the game and you can search by the usual options such as style or brand. All clothing items at the Menswear Shop are unlocked once the shop opens and you do not need to ever stock up on them. When you are happy with the outfit you have chosen and made sure it fits within teh customers budget, select OK to finalise the outfit. At the Menswear Shop, you only have the option for Try It On (Take A Look will not appear). A Try It On animation will play if the customer enjoys their outfit and the animations are different to the female ones.

The customer will now give you some praise about the outfit you have chosen and tell you about their favourite part. Just like at the boutique, the customer will talk to you and thank you for your help.
The final step is to say goodbye to the customer and this is shown as two short animations. First you are seen with Xiaobai handing over the items in a shopping bag to the customer and afterwards waving goodbye to them after the sale.
No customers seem to appear for me? Is this a glitch?

DeleteFor a long time I kind of stopped bothering with the menswear...mostly because I didn't know you got paid for the outfits0. Sweet deal if so; those outfits can get pretty up there.

DeleteHi there, I think I have encountered a glitch? I accidentally didn’t save my game before my 2ds died, and had to re-unlock the men’s wear shop. However, Johann has not appeared at my shop for a week or two. Is this normal?
