The game will inform you at the end of a game day if you achieved any new awards and it will tell you which awards you got. You do not earn money or stylist rank points for achieving awards. Awards are just a fun feature in the game and gives you something to work towards achieving. Some awards are easy to achieve whilst some are quite difficult.
The awards are listed on the bottom 3DS screen. |

I was actually able to get the "Amiibo Ahoy" award easily. I just tapped the feature app on my phone despite not having any amiibo figures or cards, and then after a few seconds I exited the app. The next day, I received the award.
ReplyDeleteI did some more research on the game features, and I came across an article discussing amiibos and the things they unlocked. It had this sentence:
"Tapping any amiibo for the first time will unlock the title ‘amiibo Ahoy!’ for use in your profile, and tapping amiibo can also unlock different patterns and emblems depending on which character was used."
I don't know if that may have had something to do with me earning the award quickly, but it is good to know.
I guess it does work by just opening the app which seems silly as you're not really using it. I actually scanned an amiibo in when I first used it, so I didn't notice it show up straight away.
DeleteI have unlocked all the amiibo content and will be making posts about them in the future :)
A very helpful post as always :)
ReplyDeleteWould you mind checking out my latest post when you have the time? The update one. I've started a discussion about some stuff over there and I'd like your input.
Hopefully this will help people unlock more awards.
DeleteI'll head over soon and check it out :)
Marzi, I'm in a dilemma. I'm trying to earn the award for using the Fashion 101 guide 10 times, but I'm confused. Do I need to read ten different meanings or should I read a few meanings ten times? I've started using the guide more, but the award just won't appear.
ReplyDeleteSo that award is really tricky and don't worry, it took me ages as well.
DeleteIt means you need to access it 10 times, but the game is specific on how it measures those 10 times. You can't just open it 10 times and unlock the award. The best trick to get this award is to use Fashion 101 from the phone menu at different times of the day in game. When you are using Fashion 101, spend about 10 - 20 seconds on a meaning so that the game thinks you are reading it. Do this with more than 5 meanings and then close Fashion 1010. So do this in the morning and then in the night time in the game. Repeat it for a few days until you unlock the award.
That was the trick I used to get it as the game needs to think that you are actually reading Fashion 101 when using it and using it over time.
That sounds like it might work. I'll do it. By the way, will I have to do the same for the electronic manual?
DeleteThe electronic manual one should be fine. I just opened it 10 times in a row and it gave me the award. The game just doesn't like the Fashion 101 one for some reason.
DeleteI guess this isn't an awards-related question but it's been bugging me for a while now.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help noticing that when you do makeup for the girls at NIN10, they have access to some makeup colours that I swear Lorelei doesn't have/never offered for sale. My stylist rank is 73 right now and I've stopped unlocking makeup and hair a long time ago. Is there additional stuff to unlock past that point? Am I just hallucinating? Did I actually buy everything and forget about it? Was I supposed to buy the makeup sets too? Help me, Marz!
Are they colours that are default and you already own maybe? I don't pay super close attention to them to notice things that like, but all the colours and items should definetly unlock once you finish the game. I'm in the 90's in terms of Stylist Rank and nothing new has unlocked. So they should all be there. Maybe the colours look different due to the skin tones of the characters.
DeleteI think it's most noticeable with the blushers. They have access to a handful of blushers that have colour names I didn't see available at Lorelei's, and I already bought all her blushers. I might do a New Game+ at some point so I'll check then.
DeleteNever mind, I figured it out. You actually have to buy her makeup sets as well, since they contain colours she doesn't offer individually. I've now cleaned out her shop (and confirmed I'm not crazy lol).
DeleteGood to hear you figured it out. I only ever really use the same blush, too many of them look like caked on make-up.
DeleteLooking over the Money Awards made me think about the "Tips for Money Making" guide you posted on your Fashion Forward blog. You should post one for this blog too!
ReplyDeleteI shall make one soon. There aren't too many tricks in this one, but I know of some excellent ones to make money quick. Shame they took out Caprice Chalet rent as that was the best method for earning money with no effort.
DeleteI wish it the awards that they have they would of made awards for getting all the clothes in one style so you know when you have everything... also how many contacts are in the overall game
ReplyDeleteI will be posting guides on here about how many items belong to each brand so look out for those.
DeleteNot exactly sure, I've meet hundreds of people yet I still see other players talking about customers I've never meet. I believe maybe over 500 or 600 as the last game had quite a lot.
Hey, I just came across this blog and I noticed that it has some information here that my Awards Guide I am creating on GameFAQs needs to be complete. (Such as the Moneybags title and the Make-Over Monarch.) The URL to my name links to the guide in particular so you can check it out.
ReplyDeleteIs it okay if I add these to my guide and credit your blog? Thanks in advance.
Hi! Yes you can add the names to your guide :) I'd appreciate the credit, thanks for asking. I don't know the exact titles for the two high money ones, but I know one is Billionaire or something.
DeleteThank you very much, Marzipanini! I have updated the guide with credit to you. =D
DeleteThank you! Your guide is amazing!

DeleteHello, I got my friend to look into the game's Awards data for me. And I was able to get the two titles for the money section! So here you go:
DeleteFilthy Rich - You've got $1,000,000! You're rolling in it!
Gazillionaire - You've got $9,999,990?! Unbelievable!
I hope this helps you out! =D
Thank you for this! I've updated the guide with the titles.
DeleteNo problem at all, Marzipanini!
DeleteAlso you might wanna fix the typo with "Filthy Rice". That doesn't sound appetizing at all. =P
I cannot spell to save my life haha. Thanks for pointing it out
DeleteHow do you unlock the money awards I've every other one except those three awards please let me know and thank you in advance
ReplyDeleteFor the money awards, you need to earn the amount listed in the award in the game. Your money is displayed in the phone menu screen as well as appearing when you at places such as Exhibition Hall. Once you reach the amount (i.e. $100,000), you will receive the award when the day ends in the game. The first one isn't too hard, but the next few you need to work towards.
DeleteHi! I don't know if anyone's still here, but this is the only good place I've found to talk about this game. Does anyone know if the achievements carry over in a New Game+? I wanted to restart but I kinda don't wanna lose my hard earned achievements... Many thanks to anyone who replies!
ReplyDeleteHi! I haven't done new game+ myself, but some players have told me that you have to fill up your contacts and hearts again. Not sure about the awards, they may reset as well if contacts do.
DeleteThanks for the prompt reply! If I restart my game I'll be sure to drop by and tell about my findings~
DeleteNo problem. I haven't had the courage to start new game+ as I don't want to have to play through 40+ hours of gameplay of the main story line again.
DeleteSo it is just a replay of the main story line but you keep all your money, rewards, and clothes (although I swear I keep seeing clothes that I know I've bought before displaying that I didn't but I might be crazy)
Deletei'm having trouble unlocking the 50 hour award.help?
ReplyDeleteJust keep playing as normal and it will eventually unlock. I believe it may not count online play towards the play time, Animal Crossing New Leaf did that with it's play time achievements as well.
DeleteHello my id is 0003361514, I have trouble unlocking Online Awards ~ Likable - received 10 likes in Shopdo! Phone/App Awards (CROWN TAB) ~ Online Shopper - shopping at the Restock Market 10 times! Anyone can help me? please. Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteFor the Shopdo Likes one, update your Shopdo regularly. I've found that's the easiest way to get likes because if you update it often, it will keep your Shopdo near the top of the recently uploaded list.
DeleteFor the restock app, just buy a bunch of things each day from the Restock App until you unlock it. Try doing it over 10 days as the game counts time in a strange way.
Thanks a lot.. I will try now.
Deletewhat do they mean for Exhibition hall empress: you've bought stock 100 times? what does that mean?
ReplyDeleteIt means you have brought 100 items from the Exhibition Hall. This one is pretty easy to get if you just buy stock as normal from the Hall. You will hit the 100 item mark in no time.
