Nail Designs - Preppy

There is an exciting new feature in Style Boutique 3 that allows you to paint your nails in a range of unique and colourful designs. You can get your nails done at the Beautician and any sets you have purchased can be used at your apartment. At the beautician you can also help customers pick a nail design to suit their outfit. Head to the beautician and talk to Lorelei to get a set of new nails. She will ask what type of nails you would like and the nail selection screen will appear. You can only purchase one design at a time and must re-enter the nail screen to purchase more designs. Please refer to the Nail Designs Page for all the designs available in Styling Star.

Brands - Retrobeat

There are a variety of brands featured in Style Boutique 3/Style Savvy 4 that cater to all tastes in fashion. One of the brands is Retrobeat which focuses on vintage and psychedelic fashion. The game lists the following description for the brand "Get back into the 60's and 70's groove with kaleidoscopic colours and patterns. Go on - indulge in the fab!". 

Retrobeat's main image is Psychedelic and clothing items in the brand also fall under the following images: lively, eastern, girly, boho-chic, bold, rock, chic, feminine and preppy. Amita returns as the brand representative for Retrobeat in Styling Star. For the Retrobeat brand, each section of clothing contains the following amount of items:

Beautician

The Beautician has returned once again to the Style Boutique games and has had bit of a makeover. In New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star, the Beautician allows players to purchase make-up products and make-overs, get a new set of nails or help customers pick out new look. The Beautician is managed by Lorelei and will open during the main story line of the game.

In Styling Star, you no longer have to unlock colours or locate make-up sets. All the make-up items and sets will unlock automatically as you progress through the main story line. The Make-Up Lab has been removed from the game and you can no longer design your own make-up sets. You cannot sell make-up sets either or change the look of the Beautician.

At the Beautician, characters will appear on the bottom 3DS screen. If you talk to a customer, they will request you assist them with picking out new make-up or giving them a new set of nails. If you talk to Lorelei, three options will appear: Buy Make-Up, Surprise Me & Nails. We will now go into more detail about each option she offers:

Buy Make-Up

Here is where you can buy new make-up items and make-up sets. There is a variety of items available which include: Make-Up Sets, Eyebrows, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara, Coloured Contacts, Blusher and Lipstick. A preview is shown of the colour of each item on the top screen when selected and you can add multiple items to your cart to purchase. Once you have purchased a make-up item, it will be available at your Apartment. The colour palette system is different to the one in Fashion Forward and has a swatch style look to it. The colour palettes are shown on the left hand side of the bottom 3DS screen and are organised in a way similar to make-up palettes in real life rather than the colour system in Fashion Forward. Surprise Me

Select this option to receive a make-over from Lorelei. Each make-over costs $75 and will result in a look similar to the style chosen. The surprise make-overs are similar to ones offered by Arabella in Fashion Forward, but the selection has been shrunk down to three options from five. Lorelei will present you with three make-over style options: 

• Cute - Charming & Sweet 
• Cool - Elegant & Fierce
• Bright - Dazzling & Zesty

Brands - Purple Moon

There are a variety of brands featured in Style Boutique 3/Style Savvy 4 that cater to all tastes in fashion. One of the brands is Purple Moon which focuses on costume and themed outfits. The game lists the following description for the brand "A fanciful and imaginative brand. mix and match pieces to create elaborate costumes, or just add a bit of whimsy to an outfit". 

Purple Moon does not have a set image as the items for the brand fall under all the images in the game. Some outfits will match one specific image whilst others will have pieces from multiple images. That is why players will have difficulty selling Purple Moon outfits on the mannequin as customers will not buy an outfit is there are too many images to it. Eliza returns as the brand representative for Purple Moon in Styling Star and the brand will open at the Exhibition Hall when you are able to request it during the main story line part of the game. For the Purple Moon brand, each section of clothing contains the following amount of items:

The amiibo exclusive items from Fashion Forward have returned in Styling Star and can now be found at Purple Moon. These can be purchased from the Exhibition Hall during different times of the year and no longer need to be unlocked via amiibo. There are five new outfits and items to Purple Moon in Styling Star. Purple Moon - WARS T-Shirt

The Purple Moon brand in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star sells a variety of fun costume outfits. The brand is found at the Exhibition Hall and the brand representative is Eliza. Purple Moon has some new items available in Styling Star and one of these items is the WARS T-Shirt. Alina will give you this t-shirt as a gift during the main story line of the game. It cannot be purchased from the Exhibiton Hall. The WARS T-Shirt belongs to the rock and bold images and features the logo of Alina's favourite show.

Amiibo - Yoshi

Style Boutique 3 has amiibo compatibility and unlocks special designs for your character to wear. In this game, amiibos unlock emblems and design items that are unique to the amiibo character. Certain amiibo figures unlock certain content and this guide will look at the content unlocked with any Yoshi series amiibo.

To scan an amiibo into the game, open the phone menu and select the amiibo app. Make sure that you have the internet/online switched on. You will need either a New Nintendo 3DS/2DS with the built in NFC reader or a separate NFC Reader from Nintendo. Turn the NFC reader on if you are using the stand-alone one. Place the amiibo on the 3DS or NFC reader and the game will ask to scan it in. Once you have successfully scanned the amiibo into the game, you can either close the amiibo app or scan in more amiibos. Go to your apartment and select the Design option to access the content unlocked by the amiibo.

The Yoshi amiibo's unlock a Yoshi Egg emblem and three Yoshi t-shirt designs. The emblem features a green egg and a pink egg that Yoshi's will appear from in various Nintendo games. You can add this emblem to various design items or to shopping bags.

The Yoshi t-shirt features three designs: Yoshi Simple, Yoshi Egg and Yoshi Spots. Select the T-shirt option from the design menu and you will see the base Yoshi t-shirt. Select this and the three options for the t-shirt design will appear. You can recolour the t-shirt and emblem designs to any colour using the design feature.

Designer Items

The clothing design feature has returned in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star and teh game features a variety of clothing items which you can add your own design to. In Styling Star, the Designer Lounge has been removed so you no longer need to unlock designs and patterns. The design feature can now be found in your Apartment and items you create can be uploaded to the Design Centre (more information can be found in this guide). Nearly all the clothing items will be available straight away when you unlock the Design option and the Stage Costumes will become available near the end of the main story line. The only unlockable designs are the ones that can be obtained from scanning in compatible amiibos into the game.

To start off, select the Design option when in your Apartment. A few options will appear to design items and emblems, but this guide will look at clothing items. Select the Create Item button to bring up the item selection screen. The types of clothing items you can design in Styling Star has been cut down from the large variety that featured in Fashion Forward. A number of patterns have also been removed and only a select few are now available. The clothing items that you can design in Styling Star include:

• Stage Costume
• T-Shirt (Inner)
• Shoes
• Bag
• Dresses

With each clothing item, you can customise the colour and pattern of the item. Some patterns will allow for more customisation than others with five colours being the highest amount you can alter for an item (i.e. stage costumes have five colour options). There are three stage costumes available and these unlock during the main story line. Ethan will request that you design stage costumes to match Alina, Rosie and Yolanda's personalities. This clothing item is available in the following patterns: Plain, Stripes, Dots, Diamonds and Hearts.
