There are 16 brands in Style Boutique 3 and each has a style focus, for example Marzipan Sky is primarily girly style and Brooke Bridge is preppy. Each brand will have a main style, but will contain pieces that fit within other styles, i.e. some Marble Lily items fit under both Baby-Doll and girly styles. There are separate brands for the male clothing items and accessories.
Visit the Exhibition Hall to purchase clothing items from the brands. The Exhibition Hall is divided into 4 levels and as you progress through the story line of the game, you will unlock new brands. Make sure to stock up on items from a range of brands so you don't get stuck not having the item the customer is after. You can always select to stock up and make the customer wait whilst you purchase the item. It's a good idea to purchase pieces to fit the theme and will make up a full outfit. There is also a booth at the Exhibition Hall called VIP where you can find items from all the brands on sale in one convenient location.
In the previous Style Boutique game, there was a brand called Streetflow which focused on sporty style. Unfortunately this brand has been removed in New Style Boutique 3. Pieces from the collection can be found in brands such as April Bonbon and AZ-USA.
Here is a useful list of all the brands available in Style Boutique 3 and the main style that the brand focuses on. The brand name translation is also listed for Girls Mode 4 as some brands are known under a different title in the Japanese version.

Aaah, the new lolita stuff looks so good *_* also, I want that cow hoodie IRL.
ReplyDeleteThey added some amazing Lolita stuff in this game! I love the new dresses from Raven Candle and the cute capes from Marble Lily.
DeleteOMG I know, how cool is the cow hoodie! It also comes in other colours like pink.
Yeah, I'm glad they brought back the capes!
DeleteThe capes look really good with certain dresses and perfect if you can match the colour perfectly. Some of the red and blue tones don't 100% match the red and blue of the dresses and that drives me a little insane when making outfits haha.
DeleteI'm totally stoked for the new Raven Candle and Marble Lily items!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see that the brand representatives have the same names as the ones from Fashion Forward. How did they step out of the dollhouse into the real world?!
They are some of my fave new items as well!
DeleteI know right? Eliza from Purple Moon sure looks different with her new hair. I liked that they kept the same names, but sad they removed Streetflow. The items feel mismatched with just being placed in other brands.
Though I was never a big fan of Streetflow, I agree it just doesn't feel right to remove a brand and split the items among different brands. Like what happened with Le Spark. Flirty outfits were so much fun, I wish they hadn't removed it.
DeleteThere's a question I forgot to ask you about the hair salon--do you still have to do the "figure out the correct question to ask the customer so they tell you what they want" routine, or did they change it? The question game was one of the big annoyances for me in Fashion Forward. Once, I got a choice between "What's on your mind?" and "Is there something on your mind?" or something similar! How silly is that?
The items look really out of place in brands like Brooke Bridge and April Bonbon. Plus if you played the previous game, you will really notice it. It was silly they took out Le Spark (called Miss Ribbon in the version I played). Gyaru is a fashion style in Japan so it still counts as a style so it was weird to remove it. At least the items kinda match AZ-USA where most of them were moved to.
DeleteFrom most the requests I've done at the hair salon, I haven't had to answer many questions. Most just straight up tell you what they want or you are only given one simple question like 'Do you want plaits' or 'Do you want a punk style' I haven't had any go wrong and they've always agree with me. They definitely took those exact questions you mentioned out as I haven't seen them.
I don't know why the got rid of the Streetflow brand from Fashion Forward. Was it because sporty clothes weren't popular in Japan?
DeleteNo idea why they took it out. They removed a brand last game so maybe they thought they would do it again. Sport clothes are generally popular everywhere, they've huge in Australia and everyone calls it Active Wear.
Deletewhat other brands are on this game cause previouse games in this franchise was more.
ReplyDeleteAll the brands listed here are the only ones in the game for the womens clothes (there are some brands for the male clothing items as well). The previous games had Streetflow (sporty style) and Miss Ribbon (glam/flirty style), but they were removed. So this is all we are left with.
Deletei am a fan of this game but i am unsure about this version of it. is style boutique 3 3ds really worth it? sorry to put a downer on things but i like to be sure before i buy this game. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, this is a great question and it's important to know whats in the game before you buy it. If you've been reading the guides on here, you'll have an idea of the content of the game and check out the guide on the differences between Styling Star and Fashion Forward to see how content changed between the two games.
DeletePersonally, I feel Fashion Forward had more content and replayability. It had more challenging aspects and fun goals to work towards. Styling Star doesn't have much beyond the main story line and you'll eventually reach a point where hardly any customers visit the boutique. I'd say pick it up when it's cheap if you aren't too sure or try out the demo first. I post lots of info about the game on my personal blog (click my name for a link) if you want a more personal look and opinion about the game. Also read through these guides and the Fashion Forward Guides to see which game you'd prefer to play.
Thank you for your comments and tips they really helped. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy to help :)
DeleteAre you planning on making a Purple Moon guide with all of the outfits? And if you know, what level do you unlock it at the buyers center?
ReplyDeleteYes I will be making guides on the new Purple Moon items, then maybe the older ones. I have lots of Purple Moon guides on my Style Boutique 2 Guide Blog which is linked in my name.
DeleteCheck out the walkthrough guide for info on when Purple Moon unlocks. It's pretty simple as you just request it when it becomes an option from Niamh.
Hi have you made a similar list of mens fashion brands? I'm trying to style this Dan guy thats going to announce his marriage and wants a high class outfit but I never seem to get it right. :/
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any guides for the mens fashion brands as I don't really focus on them too much. If he is requesting a high class outfit, try out the the chic image or Markus & Corman brand.
