Nail Designs - Basic

There is an exciting new feature in Style Boutique 3 that allows you to paint your nails in a range of unique and colourful designs. You can get your nails done at the Beautician and any sets you have purchased can be used at your apartment. At the beautician you can also help customers pick a nail design to suit their outfit. Head to the beautician and talk to Lorelei to get a set of new nails. She will ask what type of nails you would like and the nail selection screen will appear. You can only purchase one design at a time and must re-enter the nail screen to purchase more designs. Christmas

Christmas appears in Style Boutique once again, however the holiday is not as celebrated as it was in Fashion Forward. There are some Christmas greetings that appear and special Christmas themed miniatures and clothing items to collect. Some of the Christmas DLC Items that previously appeared in Fashion Forward are not included in Styling Star.

Once December 25th comes along in the game, special holiday themed music will play at the start of the day. If you head over to the Exhibition Hall, the brand representatives will greet you with a Christmas message and tell you how you can use their brand items to celebrate the holiday. No other Christmas greetings appear in the game and there are no holiday decorations around the city.

Nails are a new addition to the game series and two special Christmas themed designs have been included in the game. The Happy Christmas and White Christmas designs can be found under the Lively Nails Designs category. All the nail designs can be purchased from Lorelei at the Beautician.

The Festive & Christmas clothing sets are available once more from Purple Moon. The Festive set features a 5-piece clothing set and is available in five colours. The Christmas Set features a top, skirt and hairband (the hairband comes in 6 colours whilst the top and skirt only come in 5).

Beautician

The Beautician has returned once again to the Style Boutique games and has had bit of a makeover. In New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star, the Beautician allows players to purchase make-up products and make-overs, get a new set of nails or help customers pick out new look. The Beautician is managed by Lorelei and will open during the main story line of the game.

In Styling Star, you no longer have to unlock colours or locate make-up sets. All the make-up items and sets will unlock automatically as you progress through the main story line. The Make-Up Lab has been removed from the game and you can no longer design your own make-up sets. You cannot sell make-up sets either or change the look of the Beautician.

At the Beautician, characters will appear on the bottom 3DS screen. If you talk to a customer, they will request you assist them with picking out new make-up or giving them a new set of nails. If you talk to Lorelei, three options will appear: Buy Make-Up, Surprise Me & Nails. We will now go into more detail about each option she offers:

Buy Make-Up

Here is where you can buy new make-up items and make-up sets. There is a variety of items available which include: Make-Up Sets, Eyebrows, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara, Coloured Contacts, Blusher and Lipstick. A preview is shown of the colour of each item on the top screen when selected and you can add multiple items to your cart to purchase. Once you have purchased a make-up item, it will be available at your Apartment. The colour palette system is different to the one in Fashion Forward and has a swatch style look to it. The colour palettes are shown on the left hand side of the bottom 3DS screen and are organised in a way similar to make-up palettes in real life rather than the colour system in Fashion Forward. Surprise Me

Select this option to receive a make-over from Lorelei. Each make-over costs $75 and will result in a look similar to the style chosen. The surprise make-overs are similar to ones offered by Arabella in Fashion Forward, but the selection has been shrunk down to three options from five. Lorelei will present you with three make-over style options: 

• Cute - Charming & Sweet 
• Cool - Elegant & Fierce
• Bright - Dazzling & Zesty
