Apartment - Furniture Items

Style Boutique 3: Styling Star brings back the feature to decorate the interior of your apartment. The game allows you to decorate various furniture items in the apartment and create a decor that fits your personal style. To redecorate the interior of your apartment, you just need to select the Redecorate option at the apartment. The selection of items available will appear and items can be purchased at the Lifestyle Shop. Once you have purchased an item from the Lifestyle Shop, it will not appear there again as you can only buy the item once. For more information on purchasing items, please visit the Lifestyle Shop Guide.

  • Shelves
  • Tables
  • Chairs & Sofas
  • Clothing Displays
  • Dressers
  • Furniture
  • Lighting

You can pick miniatures to place on items from the following categories: Clothes, Food, Plants, Miscellaneous and Lighting. Items from these categories will be covered in later guides and this guide will focus on the main furniture items available for the apartment. Tips For Making Money

It can be a bit tricky to earn money in Styling Star as there aren't too many methods that will earn money fast. Fast money making methods from the previous game Fashion Forward  were removed in the new game such as rent money from the Caprice Chalet and Designer Lounge commission requests. However there are still some useful methods you can use in Styling Star to earn money.

The best trick to earn money is the utilise the messenger system in the phone menu and invite Chic image customers to your boutique. These types of customers will have large budgets such as $10,000 or $30,000 and will spend the largest amount of money at the boutique out of all the styles/images. The picture below shows how I made $32,155 in one day by only serving three chic customers.

Here are the steps you can follow to make quick and easy cash in Styling Star:

Step 1
Stock up on items from Enid Chen and ARIANNA. Ensure you purchase the most expensive items from the brands as you will make a large profit back from selling them. Sales are a excellent time to stock up on items and make sure to use the restock app from the phone menu. The ideal items you should stock up on include:
  • Diamond Watch
  • Elegant Boston Bag
  • Stylish Shopper Bag
  • Pattern Drawstring Bag
  • Crystal Collar Necklace
  • Jewelled Fringe Necklace
  • Jewelled Choker
  • Jewelled Chandelier Earrings
  • Thigh High Boots
  • Quilted Knee Boots
  • Organdie Ribbon Dress
  • Faux-Fur Robe
  • Leopard Print Faux Fur Coat

Step 2
Open the messaging app and invite Chic customers to come to the boutique for a new outfit. You can invite three customers per day and you must have a decent amount of hearts with them to invite them to the boutique. You can check if a customer likes the chic image by checking their details for their favourite image. Here are examples of customers you can invite that love the chic image:
  • Alexis
  • Angelique
  • April
  • Carmen
  • Cerise
  • Gillian Grace
  • Heather
  • Jamie-Lee
  • Kiki Summers
  • Lily
  • Lorelei
  • Lorina
  • Martine
  • Matilda
  • Mikiko
  • Nadia
  • Nicolette
  • Petra
  • Portia
  • Sybil
  • Tammy
  • Vicky

Step 3
Head over to the boutique at the time you stated for the customer to visit. Talk to them and they will ask for an outfit that you think suits them. When the selection screen appears, you will notice their budget is quite large. Open the search menu and select the following criteria: Enid Chen, ARIANNA, Chic, $300+ Price. Now select an outfit for them from items that belong to those search categories. Follow these handy tips when creating an outfit:

Amiibo - Kirby

Style Boutique 3 has amiibo compatibility and unlocks special designs for your character to wear. In this game, amiibos unlock emblems and design items that are unique to the amiibo character. Certain amiibo figures unlock certain content and this guide will look at the content unlocked with the Kirby series amiibo.

The Kirby amiibo will unlock this T-shirt design.

To scan an amiibo into the game, open the phone menu and select the amiibo app. Make sure that you have the internet/online switched on. You will need either a New Nintendo 3DS/2DS with the built in NFC reader or a separate NFC Reader from Nintendo. Turn the NFC reader on if you are using the stand-alone one. Place the amiibo on the 3DS or NFC reader and the game will ask to scan it in. Once you have successfully scanned the amiibo into the game, you can either close the amiibo app or scan in more amiibos. Go to your apartment and select the Design option to access the content unlocked by the amiibo.

The Kirby amiibo unlocks a special Kirby themed emblem and three Kirby themed t-shirt designs. The emblem features a design of a cute piece of candy and a little star from the game series. You can add these emblem to various design items or to shopping bags.

The Kirby t-shirt features three unique designs. Select the T-shirt option from the design menu and you will see the base Kirby t-shirt. Select this and the three options for the t-shirt design will appear. The amiibo unlocks the Kirby Simple, Kirby 1-Up and Kirby Star designs. You can recolour the t-shirt and emblem designs to any colour using the design feature.

Lifestyle Shop

Styling Star features a new shop called the Lifestyle Shop that allows you to purchase miniatures and layouts to use at your apartment and boutique. In the previous game Fashion Forward, miniatures were available by purchasing them at the Miniatures Shop or received as gifts from NPC's. Now in Styling Star, the Miniatures Shop has been separated in different shops and one of them is the Lifestyle Shop.

The Lifestyle Shop is run by Pippa.

The shop sells a variety of miniature and decorating items.

The Lifestyle Shop can be found on the right of the city map and is run by Pippa. The shop stocks a variety of items that can be used to decorate your apartment and various aspects of the boutique. When you enter the Lifestyle Shop and talk to Pippa, two options will appear: For Apartment and For Shop.

First off is the For Apartment option. Use this option to purchase items to use when decorating the interior of your apartment. The apartment customisation isn't too complex as you can only alter certain aspects of the apartment. The For Apartment option brings up categories that you purchase items from and the selection is limited. The categories that are available in the For Apartment option include:
  • Walls
  • Floors
  • Shelves
  • Tables
  • Chairs & Sofas
  • Clothing Displays
  • Dressers
  • Furniture
  • Lighting
  • Clothes
  • Miscellaneous

Example of a bed item you can purchase.

The items available for sale for use at the apartment are only available to purchase once. For example, you can only purchase a bed or wall once. Items such as clothing can be placed on the clothing display items and some miscellaneous items can be placed on shelves. Once you have purchased a item, it will not show up again at the Lifestyle Shop under the For Apartment option. When you select the option, it will display the screen shown below with no active categories available. For a guide on all the items available for decorating the apartment, please visit the Apartment Furniture Items Guide.

Here is an example of how you can use the items to decorate the interior of the apartment. Each item category must have an item selected, basically you cannot decorate a room without a bed or a tables and chairs set. Due to the selection of items being limited and with the feature that makes you have an item in each category, it can be difficult to create a room that has a matching theme or colour. The picture below shows an example of that with the tables and chairs set being a completely different style to the rest of the room.

The For Shop option has a larger selection of items available. The options available for use at the boutique include:
  • Interior - Walls, floors and miniatures that can be used to decorate the interior of the boutique. Players on Shopdo will see the interior of your boutique.
  • Interior Sets - Purchase pre-designed interior sets themed around the fashion styles of the game, such as girly, gothic and baby-doll.
  • Exterior - Facades and building designs to use when decorating the exterior of the boutique.

The interior option is similar to the layout of the Miniatures Shop from Fashion Forward. It contains a variety of miniatures categories with many returning items from the previous game. Items under the plants category can be purchased from the Florist and a majority of the Food items in the game can be purchased from the Cake Shop or received as a gift from Michel at the Bakery Stall. Lorelei will also gift you a variety of miniatures during the main story line and you will receive some as gifts on your birthday.

The selection available under the Interior option changes every month with items rotating over the course of a week. For example, new items will appear on the 1st of the month, then on the 2nd and the 3rd and so on until the 7th. Then on the 8th of the month when a new week begins, the items that appeared on the 1st will reappear and the cycle will continue.

The walls and floors items can only be purchased once (as you only require one) and will have a red icon displayed on it (shown in the picture below) after you purchase it which means that it cannot be added to your cart. Miniatures can be purchased from the following categories at the Lifestyle Shop:
  • Walls (Can only be purchased once)
  • Floors (Can only be purchased once)
  • Shelves
  • Tables
  • Chairs & Sofas
  • Clothing Displays
  • Clothes
  • Dresses
  • Furniture
  • Food
  • Miscellanous
  • Windows
  • Lighting

Miscellaneous category at the Lifestyle Shop.

The red icon will appear on wall and floor items once you have purchased them.

Here are examples of items that you can purchase from the Interior option and a picture of an example of how you can use them to decorate the interior of your boutique. The miniature item categories have changed in Styling Star and categories such as Electronics have been moved into other ones such as Furniture.

If you don't feel like designing your own boutique interior, you can purchase pre-designed interior sets themed around the fashion images of the game. When you purchase the pre-designed sets, all the items become available at the boutique and apartment (clothing and miscellaneous items only). Here are examples of the types of interior sets you can purchase.

Lastly is the exteriors option which features a variety of building designs and facades that you can use to decorate the exterior of the boutique. Over the course of the game series, the customisation of the boutique exterior has changed a lot. In Styling Star, you can only change four aspects of the exterior and these are shown as the four categories under the exterior option:
  • Walls
  • Floor
  • Signs
  • Display Window

Once you have purchased an item under any of the four categories, it will no longer become available as you can only purchase the item once. Similar to the apartment items, the selection screen will display 'No items available' once you have purchased all the styles available. Prices differ between the four categories and there are a variety of colours and styles available. In Fashion Forward, the display windows contained miniature items in them however this feature has been removed in Styling Star. Display windows are now just the background with a mannequin and you cannot place miniatures in the display anymore.

Make-Up Sets

Make-up sets make a return in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star and a few changes have been made to them. Make-up sets no longer need to be unlocked at specific times and season like they had to in Fashion Forward. You can no longer sell make-up sets at the Beautician or design you own sets like you could in Fashion Forward.

There are 20 make-up sets to collect in Styling Star. The product designs (appearance) of the sets are similar to those in New Style Boutique (Trendsetters) where there were only a few product designs available and the colours are just altered for the different sets.
